What if Moodle stops responding in the middle of an exam?

If there is a temporary network disruption or if Moodle is not responding then, if you made changes since losing connectivity, within about a minute the following will appear at the head of the page:
Network connection lost. (Autosave failed).
Make a note of any responses entered on this page in the last few minutes, then try to re-connect.
Once connection has been re-established, your responses should be saved and this message will disappear.
or:
You should not reload the page.
If the reload succeeds, any changes that you made since the page was last saved will be lost.
(In SEB, the reload button is the circular arrow, at bottom right. Do not use it.)
Note: A page is saved when you move to another page, or click on the Save button at the bottom - if there is one.
If you do not reload the page, then:
  • If the page remains open then you can simply continue working
  • If you lose the page (because the browser bombs or machine hangs) then, when you return to it, your answers from the last save or autosave will be restored - whichever was most recent.
Note: In EXAM Moodle autosaves occur every 60 seconds (so long as there is connectivity.)

If the page remains open, then ithin a minute of the connection being restored, the following will appear:
Network connection restored. You may continue safely
or:
חיבור רשת נתונים שוחזרה. ניתן להמשיך בבטחה

Note: In SEB, if you click on a button while there is no connectivity, all buttons will be disabled.
However, you will still be able to click on link Recover from lost connection (or התאוששות מתקלת תקשורת)
This is useful to be able to see when connectivity is restored.
It is equivalent to Finish exam... (or סיום הבחינה...) i.e. saves the page and allows you to return to it.
