בקורס זה יילמדו מרכיבים מאפיינים מזונות למעלי גירה, מדדי איכות מזון, השפעת גיל ועונה על הרכב המספוא, הקשר בין ההרכב הכימי לבין הערך התזונתי ודרכי שימור מזון. שימור מזונות על ידי ייבוש והכנת תחמיצים. כמו כן, נלמד על מזונות לוואי תעשייתיים וממוחזרים ושאריות של תעשיית הביואתנול והביודיזיל מגרעינים. המשמעות התזונתית והכלכלית לטיפולים פיזיקאליים וכימיים למזונות מרוכזים וגסים והשפעתם על הערך התזונתי למעלי גירה. תוספות שומן ושמנים למנות מעלי גירה להעלאת ריכוזיות האנרגיה והשפעתם על היצרנות. מידת השפעת רעלים ורעלנים במספוא על תהליכי עיכול ויצרנות. קורס זה מכיל מעבדה רטובה שבה נכיר את עיקר שיטות העבודה להערכת מזונות למעלי גירה והכרת האמצעים לחישוב ערכי המזונות.
This course deals with feedstuffs for ruminants and emphasizes the factors that influence the quality of feedstuffs. Effects of season and maturity of plants on feedstuffs quality. The effect of chemical and physical treatments on feedstuffs in terms of quality, nutritional value, and economics. Anti-nutritional components in feeds. This course include laboratory assignment that include the basics for chemical analysis of feeds for ruminants and methods for calculating their nutritional value.
