The tools of finance can be enablers of social, economic and environmental impact. This independent research course is designed to build innovative financing strategies and impact evaluation to build innovative enterprise or project financing capital structures, business models and strategies that generate outcomes such as financial inclusion/capital access for sustainable development and impact investment. The research will focus on financing innovative products, policies and programs in food/agriculture, health, energy, water, and environmental technologies.
This research practicum is intended primarily for MBA, Financial Economics, and other Hebrew University graduate students who are in the Milken Fellows program under the auspices of the Israel Civil Service Commission, but is open to all Hebrew University students who have completed Course 55721. The entire course is focused on working on a finance project and reporting findings related to the topic of their Fellowship intern assignment.
This independent research study course enables a student to pursue for two credits (n.z.) for research or other academic topic of interest in this area under the supervision of Prof. Glenn Yago along with another faculty instructor. The resulting work product will be a substantive paper or written report containing significant analysis and interpretation of a previously approved topic proposed from prior enrollment in the Fall Semester in Prof. Yago’s course on Financial Innovation for Economic Development (Course 55721). Hebrew University students who are candidates for graduate degrees and who are serving as Fellows in the Milken Innovation Center’s program under the supervision of the Civil Service Commission and all other students having successfully completed the aforementioned pre-requisite course 55721 will be available to enroll in this independent research course.
The supervisor will evaluate the work, including the final product , associated with the independent study along with the additional faculty instructor or research mentor.
