The applied research project seminar course will focus on developing skills including an interactive workshop using computer-based project development and financing scenarios for project development plans directed towards prospective fieldwork in sustainable development leading to a market-ready investable project. This will include case study diagnostic reviews for target development technology applications in ag/food, health, energy, biodiversity, health, infrastructure, transportation and smart mobility and environmental payment for services, eco- and cultural heritage tourism and other sustainable development targets based on business, finance and technology acceleration models. Classes will include project models and problem sets to solve during the class period. Students will be accepted to this course based upon their performance in the Fall course DEVP 296 -Financial Innovations for Development and / or their interest in developing skills necessary for translating a Project Concept Note into a Project Development Plan for a Fieldwork Fellowship in Israel and/or developing economy partner (Kenya, S. Africa, Rwanda, Nigeria, Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, UAE, India or other target markets for sustainable development projects). Other students who have not completed the Fall Course will also be eligible to participate in this professional practice advanced course and become eligible for Fellowships as well from Development Engineering, Goldman School of Public Policy-MDP Program, Haas Business School and other graduate students seeking professional practice training in development finance.
