The course will examine the nature and the roles of the Third Sector in modern societies
and critically analyze its contributions to society, politics and the economy. The concepts
of “Civil Society” and “Third Sector” will be presented and discussed using different
scholarly perspectives. The course will focus on the Third Sector in Israel: its structure,
functions and history and comparisons with those in other countries.
