What is meant by Always latest alongside a question on the Questions page of a quiz?

In vanilla Moodle4, if a question is changed, even in only a minor way, it is saved as a new version
The course Question bank shows the latest version of the question and its version number.
The change does not in any way affect existing quiz attempts.
By default, a new quiz attempt uses the latest version of the question that is available at the time the attempt is opened.
That is what is meant by Always latest in the question's dropdown menu on the quiz's Questions page.
However, any of version of the question can be selected from the menu and new quiz attempts will use the selected version.
Note: One can select the version to be edited only on the quiz's Questions page.

In practice, one often needs to change a question in existing quiz attempts (such as during an exam or a homework.)
What's more, if the quiz has not been used before and therefore there are no submitted attempts one has no interest in keeping earlier versions of the question.
Thus here at HUJI the default is to save to the current version of the question. (Blue buttons.)
The option to save to a new version still exists but is not the default. (Grey buttons.)
The option to save to the current version - which is the default - is a HUJI feature.

Note: In vanilla Moodle, regrading changes the question to the current version. (This is the only way to make a change to a question in existing attempts.)
In HUJI Moodle, regrading does not change the version unless checkbox Use new version is checked
